February 9, 2022
An ideal time to start would be at the start of 9th grade. Admissions officers like to see that a student has invested a considerable amount of time in exploring academic courses and projects beyond the school curriculum, involved in social impact projects as well as extra-curricular activities. The sooner a student starts, the more impactful would the profile/resume read and would drastically improve a student’s chance to get into a top college! So our advice- start early and maximize your chances!
Top 5 criteria that a student should keep in mind while picking a university…

So how does a student identify the right fit school? 1.Geographic and climatic preferences could play a major role in helping a student to decide the right school. A location with harsh winters could be a deterrent to some students, or the support of family and friends in a particular location could be important to some students. Weigh the pros and cons of every location before deciding. 2. The reputation and ranking of a school for a particular major could be an important criterion. A highly ranked school with a reputation could offer a student better career opportunities. 3. Whether a student prefers a small private school where the classroom sizes are smaller, versus large public universities is crucial as this could impact a student’s academic environment and performance. Private schools are more elite and could be more expensive though. A large public school would have large classroom sizes and therefore there could be a wait period for certain popular classes and a student could feel a little lost. However public universities boast of a more international, diverse studentvexperience.4. City schools versus campus towns away from a city could be important as some students like to live closer to main cities with easy access to airports and internship opportunities.5. Scholarships, financial aid and work study options at a university could significantly reduce the financial burden and a student could choose a school that gives maximum financial assistance.
