SAT/ACT

The SAT and ACT exams are the two main standardized tests that a student could take to demonstrate college readiness. The scores are used for college admissions decisions and students with stellar scores are also awarded merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. A student may take one of the two tests. Each university publishes the score of ranges it accepts. The closer a student is to the 75th percentile of the published score, the better the chances of getting admitted. Of course top universities expect students to have a high standardized test score.
